GLAD TIDINGS ASSEMBLY
          OCEANSIDE

    IN SEARCH OF RENEGADES

       By David Foster

After an assassin killed Bobby kennedy, Ted
Kennedy gave the eulogy to his brother's
funeral. Listen to a brief excerpt of how Ted
  remembered his brother:
My brother need not be idealized or enlarged
in death beyond what he was in life. He should
be remembered simply as a good and decent
man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw
suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried
to stop it. And he said, many times, "Some men
see things as they are and say, 'Why?' I dream
things that never were, and say 'Why not?'

That's the choice you have to make. Will you be
remembered as a dreamer who refused to
accept the status quo (Latin for "the mess we're
in")? Or will you accept the opportunity of a
lifetime? Will you be a reactionary or a renega-
de? I vote for the renegade. Renegade never
  quit, despite the bruises.
In the eighteenth century, Samuel Johnson
wrote, "Nothing will ever be attempted if all
possible objections must first be overcome. Ask
yourself the ultimate question: What's stopping
me from living my dreams? Maybe you need to
become a little more "unreasonable." Maybe you
  need to become a renegade.
We need more people who dream up solutions
to the problem of the past, present, and future,
and fewer people complaining about them. We
need more dreamers to become doers. We need
more renegades who break conventional wisdom
  and defy the odds.

        DEFINING OUR LIVES...

How would you want your life to be re-
membere by those who knew you after
you have pass through the "here and
  now"?
How would you want your life to be in
eternity? (if you don't believe in the
  "life-here-after", don't worry about it).
What we do "here and now" will certainly
determine what we will be and where we
   will be in etenity.
From the cradle to the grave, we are
defining our lives, and that's how people
will remember us, and that's how our
  eternal destiny will be determined!
In the movie, "The Gladiator" general
Maximus cried to his Roman soldiers as
  the invading barbarians rushed towards
them, "What we do here will echo in
  eternity!!!"
One of the reasons why Rick Warren's
book "The Purpose-Driven Life" is a
best seller is because people want to
know if their lives have meaning and pur-
pose. They want to know if their lives has
  significance.
How are you defining your life now?
What are you doing to impact other
  people's lives?
Remember what we do here will "echo
  in eternity."

   Attitude determines Altitude!!!
The greater is our level of committment
to God, the greater will be the level of our
    discomfort!!!
